5 Shows That Need a West End Transfer
I think that there some shows on Broadway that we would all love to see in the West End! There are also some amazing regional productions that have been done in the UK that I think are worthy of a West End production! If there are any that I haven't out on the list then do comment below!
1) Dear Evan Hansen
I would love for a production of Dear Evan Hansen because it sends out such a good message. I know that it's a sad show but really the underlying message is an important one! I'm going to write a post soon about Dear Evan Hansen because I believe that it's such an important and valuable show.
2) Anastasia
We loved the movie as a kid right? I certainly
did! In fact, I'm listening to the show soundtrack as I write this post. I think the soundtrack is beautiful and it has some beautiful songs in. It's haunting yet stunning. Some of the songs really remind me of and old style musical. Anastasia is a show that adults and children would both love!
3) Mean Girls
Although Mean Girls has not been open for long, it would appear to be going down very well on Broadway so I don't think it will be long before we get a West End transfer (hopefully)! I think that the British audience would love it because we all love that film! There would be an already
established audience due to the movie! There are also fans that love the cast recording!
4) Hello Dolly
As I wri
te this, Hello Dolly closed on Sunday! Bette Midler came back an finished her run after she had left in January! I think Hello Dolly would be an amazing musical for the West End. I don't think
that are enough classic musicals at the moment. It's also about time we had a show that stars an older woman as the lead! I'm not saying that in a nasty way, I'm saying because it's true!!!
5) Frozen
From what I've seen and read, Frozen has had mixed reviews! But I've seen the performances that have been broadcast on American TV and it looks amazing! Also, it's a Disney musical! In the West End at the moment we have Aladdin and The Lion King which are both running and doing very well. Frozen has a
strong following from the film! I mean, strong is an understatement! Frozen was the highest grossing animated film of all time so the musical would do incredibly well!
